QUALIFICATIONS:


  1. EXPERIENCE: Attorneys with 0–2 years of experience/new bar admit are encouraged to apply. Business and/or real estate litigation experience in Los Angeles County courts is a plus.
  2. LICENSE: Must be an active member in good standing with the California State Bar.
  3. EDUCATION: JD from an accredited law school.
  4. LOCATION: Live and work experience in LA County.
  5. COMMUNICATION: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Spanish Speaking Optional.
  6. CHARACTER:
    1. Detail-oriented, diligent, and eager to learn.
    2. Receptive to feedback and direction; demonstrates coachability.
    3. Proactive mindset with the ability to grow into working independently.
    4. Strong problem-solving instincts and solid work ethic.
    5. Professional demeanor and presentation.
  7. TECHNOLOGY: Advanced skills: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Adobe, Dropbox, Zoom, Slack, Asana, Lexis, Rutters Guides. Home office in a quiet professional location (no background noise).
  8. REFERENCES: Trustworthy, dependable, and clear background report.

JOB DESCRIPTION:


  1. RESEARCH, DRAFTING, & DOCUMENTATION
    1. Review case files including intakes, court case summaries, court filings, evidence, etc.
    2. Legal Research Memos using: Rutter’s Guides, Annotated Codes, Lexis/Westlaw, Google, etc.
    3. Draft and respond to legal documents in all practice areas including but not limited to real estate and business:
      1. Demand Letters
      2. Pleadings
      3. Discovery/Responses/Motions
      4. Case Management Memos/Statements
      5. Trial Documents: Briefs, Witness Lists, and Exhibit Lists
      6. Assign, supervise, revise, and sign all substantive documents that paralegals prepare.
  2. Document billable hours per client per month pursuant to approved budgets.
  3. RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT:
    1. Communicate/ meet & confer with opposing counsel.
    2. Communicate with clients by telephone, zoom video, and/or email.
    3. Supervise Paralegals including revising and finalizing work product including Pleadings, Motions re: Service, Motions re: Default, Post Judgment, etc.
  4. COURT APPEARANCES (Phone, Video, and/or In-Person – only if required)
    1. Case Management Conferences/Status/Trial Setting/Final Status Conferences
    2. Motions
    3. Depositions/Mediations
  5. BILLABLE HOURS
    1. Billable Hour Requirement: Minimum 6.0 hours per day
    2. Bonus: 6.5-8+ hours per day

  • SCHEDULE: 8:30AM – 6:30PM w/1 hour unpaid lunch and (2) paid 15-minute breaks
  • WORK LOCATION: Hybrid/Remote (4x per month in-office)
