About Emahn Counts – Pasadena Real Estate Attorney
Emahn Counts, Esq. is not your average Los Angeles attorney. He was born to an African-American mother and a Persian father. His maternal grandmother, Ruby Counts, was a Mother of five (5), wife, real estate broker/investor, nursing director, and group home owner in South LA. When Mrs. Counts moved to LA in 1960’s, despite her advanced education, professional licensing, and savings, she faced redlining and discrimination. She later went on to own and invest in over 12 properties. Turning lemons to lemonhead, she settled the Counts family with her husband, a military veteran and professor, near Baldwin Hills (affectionately known as the Black Beverly Hills).
Emahn’s father was an architect, and his paternal family owned a hotel business before leaving Iran in the 1970’s due to religious persecution. His father met Emahn’s mother during a real estate deal on the Wilshire corridor in the 1970’s where she worked in real estate banking. When Emahn was born in the late 1970’s, his mother gave him his name which means “to believe”.
In the early 2000’s, Emahn Counts went on to start his own family while graduating from law school in Los Angeles. After obtaining an early attorney position at a Pasadena business law firm in the South Lake Business district, he quickly advanced to Managing Attorney at that firm. It did not take long for him to realize that Pasadena was “the place” with some of the best beautiful mountain views, neighbors, and quality of life in Greater Los Angeles. Emahn Counts relocated with his wife and children first to Old Town, then over several decades in Hastings Ranch, Eaton Canyon, and Altadena.
Attorney Counts is a real estate lawyer standing on several generations of phenomenal sacrifice and success, including the good, the bad, and the ugly in real estate purchase, sale, investment, construction, co-ownership, homeowner associations, leasing, foreclosure, and eviction. He founded his real estate law firm on the principals of equality, equity, and fairness. Attorney Counts is a real estate lawyer who understands, enjoys, and appreciates real property matters. Even better is that he can communicate, in plain English, for his clients to make informed decisions and navigate complex real estate challenges.
Certain Pasadena attorneys, including Emahn Counts, Esq., are recognized for their leadership and expertise in real estate transactions, negotiation, and litigation. Emahn Counts, Esq. is a member of the State Bar of California, Los Angeles County Bar Association, and Pasadena Bar Association. He has been overwhelmingly recognized by his peers on LinkedIn, Google, Avvo, and Three Best Rated.
